Golf

CYS Golf is open to kids in Kindergarten and up. 

Classes will focus on the full swing, putting, short game, and green etiquette. Instructors will use basic teaching principles, as well as fun drills and games, to improve each child's knowledge of golf. Participants are arranged in groups of 10 with two coaches per group and rotate each week between chipping, putting, and driving. We finish the season with a session on the golf course. Accompanied by an instructor, participants will gain experience playing on the course, using the skills they have been working on in their lessons.

NOTE: Participants will need their own set of golf clubs. A driver, an iron, a chipping wedge, and a putter are recommended. Golf shoes are optional, as athletic shoes are allowed on the course.

Instruction

Professional golf instructors will teach the children. This instruction will include basic rules, etiquette, grip, stance, and more advanced instruction for better players.

Eligibility

Boys and girls, from 5 years old (with completion of kindergarten) through 17 (up to High School Seniors).

Season DATES & COST

The season runs for eight weeks from June 28, 2026 to August 23, 2026. July 12 will be skipped due to the Obon Festival. There will be tournament in week 7 or 8. Exact times will be determined as we get closer to the season. The cost of the program is $200 per child.

LOCATION

All sessions will be held at the beautiful Cinnabar Hills Golf Course at 23600 McKean Rd, San Jose, CA 95141.

Equipment

Kids are required to have their own clubs. Pee Wee and Junior Golf Clubs are available at sporting goods stores and on the internet. Tennis shoes on the greens is fine.
