Dance Program

Spring & SUMMER 2027

CYS Dance program is open to kids ages 3 - 11 and offers an opportunity to learn fundamentals of different dance genres. The goal of the program is to instill a love and appreciation for dancing, as well as developing new friendships through the course of the dance season.

For Spring, we are offering Ballet/Tap. The class will end with a performance at Nikkei Matsuri and Pancake Breakfast. Registration for Ballet/Tap will open later in Fall 2026

  • Dates: Fridays; 1/22/27 - 4/30/27 (exact dates and times to be confirmed)

  • Times: Classes will be 45 minutes. Your child will be placed in a class based on his or her age. Times TBD

  • Cost: $230

  • Maximum Headcount Capacity: 24

  • Location: T & Company Dance Center, 2360 S Bascom Avenue, Suite F, Campbell CA, 95008

Your dancer will need to wear a leotard and tights (any color), and have their hair pulled back.  CYS maintains a supply of gently used tap and ballet shoes in a variety of sizes, which we will bring to the first class for your dancer to try on and use for the season.  If you opt to purchase your own, please purchase pink ballet slippers and black tap shoes (that tie in the front - no buckles or Mary Jane style, please).

For Summer, we are offering Hula. This beginner hula program shares stories from Hawaiian culture. Registration for Hula will open in Spring 2027

  • Dates: 6/4/27 - 8/27/27 (exact dates and times to be confirmed)

  • Times: 4:15 - 5:00 PM for the Keiki class; 5:00 - 5:45 PM for the Kaikamahine class

  • Groups will be split by age by instructor

  • Cost: TBD

  • Maximum Headcount Capacity: 25

  • Location: Akiyama Wellness Center, 110 Jackson St, San Jose, CA 95112

Your dancer should wear comfortable clothing, and we recommend they be barefoot during the lesson.  Optional: Your dancer may wear a hula skirt, pa’u skirt, or pareu.

ROLE OF PARENTS

All families are asked to download the SportsEngine app to receive the most up to date information and messages. Parents are allowed to watch the class through the window at the dance studio. You may also drop off and pick up your dancer.  One of the CYS dance commissioners will be present for each class should you need to contact us for anything. Please keep your child home if experiencing COVID symptoms.
