"Volunteering at the CYS Mother’s Day Pancake Breakfast, I realized the amazing impact community service can have. Bussing tables and greeting community members of all generations, I noticed the joy of celebrating an occasion like the Mother’s Day holiday with family, friends, and a community. Through my service, and the hard work of all the other CYS parents and members, the friends and family of San Jose CYS were able to enjoy a meal and the company of others. From this experience, I discovered my own joy in helping and serving my community."

“CYS provided activities that made me feel at home as many families shared the same cultural values as my family did. It felt wonderful to have a community that emphasized my cultural values because it gave me a sense of belonging and encouraged me to explore my culture with others in the community.”

Major: Business Administration
